Hi Family,
Every story starts with a spark, a moment where something just has to change. For Adamu Waziri, that moment came when he looked around at children’s media and realised a painful truth: there were very few animated characters that positively represented African children.
Cartoons were colourful. Characters were fun. But the African experience? The culture, the languages, the hair textures, the food, the values? They were missing.
That’s when Adamu decided to do something bold. He didn’t wait for someone else to create the representation he wanted to see, he built it from scratch.
And so, Bino & Fino was born!
Filling the Gap in Children’s Media
Bino & Fino is more than just an animation, it’s a cultural movement. Adamu’s goal was simple yet powerful:
“Create something that African children, and children of African descent all around the world, could watch and say, that looks like me.”
He wanted to change the narrative, one episode at a time, by celebrating African heritage, languages, food, clothing, and history in a fun, educational, and joyful way.
Bino & Fino was developed in Nigeria with a small team and a big vision. From the beginning, the show has stood on three pillars:
-
Representation
-
Education
-
Pride in identity
The siblings, Bino and Fino, explore everyday topics like maths and science, as well as deeper cultural themes like the Great Walls of Benin or African hairstyles. All told from a proudly African perspective.

Why It Matters
Representation is more than a buzzword, it’s a foundation for confidence, self-worth, and identity. When children don’t see themselves in the media they consume, it sends a message: You don’t matter.
Bino & Fino flips that script.
It says, You do matter. You are smart. You are seen. And your culture is beautiful.
Over the years, the brand has grown into a global community, supported by parents, teachers, schools, and families who understand the value of diverse storytelling.

Join the Movement

Bino & Fino is more than a cartoon. It’s a call to reimagine what’s possible in children’s media. It’s a reminder that African stories belong on every screen.
And it all started with one idea, that every child deserves to be seen.
If you believe in that too, share this blog, tell a friend, or introduce Bino & Fino to a child who needs it.
Because stories shape the future, and this one is proudly African.
